Ujjain, Feb 15: To give form of Green Simhastha to Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain from April 22 to May 21, Jan-Abhiyan Parishad has launched Panch Mahabhoot Samvardhan Saksharta Yatra from Ujjain on February 13. Yatra will visit 250 village by February 18. Volunteers taking part in Yatra will apprise people of importance of the 5 elements including Sky, Wind, Fire, Water and Earth. Yatra was flagged off from Chintaman Ganesh Mandir at Ujjain.
During visit of rural areas, volunteers will also be apprised of their role. Yatra will conclude on February 21 at Kalidas Academy, Ujjain. On the occasion, environmentalist Shri Rajendra Singh known was Waterman will address workers. Along with environment, Shri Singh will also throw light on water conservation.
Kshipra river’s water declared reserved
Meanwhile, Ujjain Collector Shri Kavindra Kiyawat has issued order to declare water of Kshipra river reserved. Following issuance of the order, water of Kshipra river can be used for domestic purpose only. Its water will not be used for any other purpose including irrigation and industries. The Collector has directed all SDMs to ensure compliance of the order. Violence of the order will entail 2 years’ imprisonment and fine of Rs. 2000.
PHE Department has completed 12 Simhastha-related works. These include construction of water treatment plants, maintenance of barrages, pump and tanks’ construction and laying of pipelines.
