THREE BUS STANDS SET UP IN INDORE FOR PILGRIMS« Back

At Indore, three temporary bus stands have been set up for commuters to go to Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain. The bus stands will have arrangements for drinking water, toilets and convenient stay of devotees. Police will set up police posts at all temporary bus stands and taxi stands.

About 5 to 10 lakh devotees will reach Ujjain via Indore daily during Simhastha. In view of it, dev works are being undertaken at Indore. PWD has completed 47 bridges and culverts in view of Simhastha. Work is underway for 31 bridges and culverts and 29 more bridges are proposed in Indore division.

Repair of Community Hall and passenger waiting room is being undertaken at a rapid pace at Indore district’s Mhow Nagar Parishad. At Sanwer, night shelter is being constructed and bus stand upgraded speedily. All these works will be completed by February 2016. About 90 per cent work of railway over-bridge on super corridor has been completed. Water kiosks are being constructed by Rural Development Department at villages situated on main roads in Indore district. Traffic will be toll-free for 2 months at toll plazas on Indore-Ujjain road. Special drive has been launched to remove encroachments from Ujjain road. In view of Simhastha, all works are being undertaken at a rapid pace and were reviewed recently by district collector P Narhari at a meeting of concerning departments.

Besides, over one plan has been chalked out for smooth conduct of Mela and planned disaster management during Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain. Along with ‘A’, there will also be plan ‘B’ and ‘C’. If due to any reason, Plan ‘A’ does not work, any situation can be dealt by implementing Plan ‘B’ or ‘C’. These plans will be part of disaster management arrangements for Simhastha.

Power will be immediately supplied through generators if power goes off due to any reason during Simhastha. If generators fail, power will be supplied through batteries. Plan has been chalked out for option of CDMA Network if mobile network fail.

For this, discussions are being held with BSNL, which would provide headsets and SIMs. Arrangements are being made to give headsets on rent. Power Distribution Company is making arrangements of walkie-talkies for its staff.
