Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has claimed that the Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain would be successfully organised. “We, you and the society would make it a success by assuming collective responsibilities,” he added.
Chouhan while addressing mediapersons in Ujjain on Saturday said, “The Simhastha-2016 would make a world record before concluding with unforgettable memories. It is still one and a half year and in between we have to work to complete the permanent infrastructure and temporary infrastructure.”Chouhan furthers aid that the world was facing several issues and the Simhastha could be an appropriate stage for considering those issues including environment, unity of religion, humanitarian grounds in education and honor of women and daughters.
He said that we are planning to hold comprehensive discussions over these issues during the Simhastha. We are hopeful that record number of pilgrims would take part in the grand event, it is estimated that over 5 crore pilgrims would take part in Simhastha-2016 he added.Meanwhile, earlier in the day Chouhan inspected construction and development works being carried for Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain on Saturday. The Chief Minister inspected works from Bhukhi Mata Mandir’s Ghat upto Maa Kshipra. He sought information about crowd management measures. Chouhan directed that roads should be widened for efficient crowd management during Simhastha.
The Chief Minister was informed by Divisional Commissioner Ravindra Pastor about progress of 6717 proposed works including construction of control room-cum-watchtower, building of Mela office, major bridges, external and internal roads being constructed by PWD and constructed, under-construction works of Water Resources Development Department and works being undertaken by Environment and Pollution Control Board and Madhya Pradesh Western Region Power Distribution Company. The Chief Minister also sought information about power distribution as per consumption during Simhastha.Earlier, Chouhan worshipped Maa Bhukhi Mata. School Education Minister Paras Jain, MP Chintamani Malviya, MLA Mohan Yadav, distinguished citizens and officers were present on the occasion.
