People to be deployed on duty during Simhastha at Ujjain from April 22 to May 21 are being imparted through training. A two-day training workshop on disaster and medical management began at Ujjain on Monday. Today, 150 senior officers, 400 doctors and medical college professors and 150 paramedical staff and nurses participated in the workshop.
At the inauguration, Chairman of Simhastha Central Committee Makhan Singh said that it a challenge for all is to ensure smooth arrangements during Simhastha. Success in organizing the event can be achieved through team work. Collector informed that 5 crore devotees are expected to visit Simhastha. Dean of Ujjain Medical College Dr HK Singh informed that arrangements for free of cost treatment and surgeries will be made during Mela period.
Along with this, attendants of patients will also be provided free lodging and food. AIIMS New Delhi’s Dr Praveen Agrawal, Atlanta, America’s Dr Vikas Kapil, Dr Arthur Yessi and Dr Kaila Larsson delivered lectures on disaster and medical management. Information about medical arrangements and disaster management was given to participants through a presentation.
A digital map kiosk has been set up Simhastha Mela office. Through machine, digital maps of all zones, sectors and important spots of Mela have been made available. These digitalised maps can be enlarged and compacted through keyboard. Through digital maps, situation of allotment of plots in Mela area can be known in a better way.
