5 crore devotees estimated to visit Ujjain« Back

Bhopal/Ujjain Jan 28: Elaborate arrangements are underway for Simhastha to be held at Ujjain from April 22 to May 21 this year. All civic amenities will be made available so that devotees face no problem. About 5 crore devotees are estimated to visit Simhastha.

Help centre:- There will be 106 help centres in Simhastha Mela area. Through the centres, devotees will get necessary information. They will be able to register complaints regarding water, power, milk supply etc. at these centres.

Call centre:– Call centres have started functioning in Mela area. Devotees can obtain any Simhastha-related information by dialing phone number 1100. In Mela area, 51 lost & found centres are being set up to locate and help missing persons, specially children.

Medical facilities:– Adequately equipped free of cost hospital arrangements will be available during Simhastha. The area will have 6 hospitals of 20 beds each and 23 hospitals of 6 beds each. As many as 5 mobile health units will also function. One team comprising 2 health workers will be deployed at every Ghat with facility to cater to heart problems immediately.

Kiosks for cold water:– As many as 1000 kiosks would be set up during Simhastha to make available neat and cold drinking water to devotees. Bacteria-free water would be supplied at these kiosks.

Transport facility:– Adequate transport facility would be available for devotees. For internal transport, 1050 Tata Magic vehicles and 377 city buses will be available. In all, 28 routes have been identified for Simhastha.

Banking facilities:– Devotees visiting Simhastha would be provided banking facilities too. Special Simhastha Card would be provided to them. Through the cards, devotees will be able to go round Mela area cashless. There is scheme to install 50 ATMs in Mela area. Coin dispenser machines will also be provided to make available adequate number of coins to devotees. There would be 10 thousand sweep machines in Bazaar in the Mela area. All visitors to Simhastha would be insured free of cost. They would be insured for Rs. 2 lakh automatically as soon as they reach Ujjain.
